40 years as a family business

Leading manufacturer of welding fittings in Europe

Founded in Haiger, Hessen we at Busch + Kunz have come an impressive way. As one of the first industrial companies that settled in the Burbach Industrial Park in North Rhine-Westphalia in 1975, we have continuously developed into the leading manufacturer of welding fittings in Europe. With the takeover of Busch + Kunz by the grandfather of the current shareholder siblings in 1982, Busch + Kunz has been a family business for over 40 years now and has been run by the same family ever since.

Hydroforming

8,000 tons of pressing force, ultimate precision

Our strengths are innovation and reliability. We have gained a reputation as a reliable and experienced manufacturer of welding fittings. In addition to classic hot forming, we introduced the hydroforming process as a cold forming process in 1998. Since 2012, our hydroforming press park includes three modern, electronically controlled hydroforming presses with a combined pressing force of up to 8,000 tons per press. This was a major step in the continuous expansion of our production capacities. Today more than 95% of our products are manufactured by hydroforming. Since 2005, we have also been continuously driving forward the automation in our production processes in order to increase our productivity while improving ergonomics for our employees. The methods and technologies used as well as the processes and automation, make us the benchmark in our industry.

Welding fittings in stainless steel: variety and quality since 2018

At Busch + Kunz, we have always expanded our range of standard and special parts in the field of welding fittings by offering our products in special grades from low-alloy to high-alloy carbon steels in addition to the classic carbon steel (P235). In 2018, we began expanding our product range to stainless steel welding fittings. In addition to the classic stainless steel grades in 1.4571, 1.4541 and 1.4404, we are also continuously expanding our product range here and have also been offering stainless steel welding fittings in 1.4539 since 2023. Further material grades are currently being trialled in order to expand further our stainless steel product portfolio in the near future.

Busch + Kunz – Made in Germany in Burbach and Torgelow

We have grown continuously at our site in Burbach. Today, we employ 75 people in production and administration on an operating area of 16,000 m² and a production area of 10,000 m². We are closely tied to our employees and to our region where we also nurture close technology and procurement partnerships with companies from the Siegerland region.

Second site for 100 % German production

As our expansion possibilities at the Burbach site are limited, we looked around for a second production site in Germany in 2008. We found it in Torgelow in Mecklenburg. We made a conscious decision in favour of this location so that we can continue to offer our customers only products that are 100% manufactured in Germany. The district of Greifswald-Vorpommern is also historically characterised by metal processing and so we have acquired 20,000 m² of commercial space in Torgelow and built a production area of currently 2,000 m².

Busch + Kunz

With 110 employees, 2 locations and 7,500 tons of production capacity

With the establishment of our second site in Torgelow in 2008, we laid the foundations for a further increase in our production capacity. Since 2009, we have been producing a complete range of our product portfolio in Torgelow with our own trained team. What began in 2009 with a workforce of just 10 employees has developed over the last few years into a permanent staff of 35 today. Many of the employees who still work for us today have been with us from the very beginning. In total, we employ 110 people at Busch + Kunz and have a total production capacity of 7,500 tons per year with our two sites.
